Regional keywords are a great way to get an edge on your competition. The concept is very simple: we don’t all use the same lingo, so why not use that to your advantage when picking keywords? For example, the North East is big on calling sub sandwiches “grinders”, while some people have never heard of such a thing. In England, the hood of a car is a “bonnet”, where I come from; a soda is a “pop.” There are tons of words like this that have one meaning, but very different regional names. Picking keywords that describe your product in more than one locale will help people from all over the country and beyond, find you.
